Description
Tuesday 24th September2019
We will visit the
Gladstone Pottery Museum
to discover how bone china tableware was made in the original workshops and giant bottle kilns of the former Gladstone China Works, which are now preserved in the last complete Victorian pottery factory in the country.
From 10.30 am to 12.00 we will have a guided tour as two groups, there will then be an hour to explore ourselves.
At 1.00pm the coach will take us to our next museum, the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, where you can buy lunch in their café , followed by our afternoon tour and talk at:
The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery
which houses the world’s greatest collection of Staffordshire Ceramics, explaining the history of manufacture and design in the pottery industry, as well as galleries of art and local history.
We will have a talk and guided tour of the ceramics exhibition.
The coach will leave the Beeches Car park in Cirencester at 8.00am, and we expect to return to Cirencester by 6.30-7.00pm.
The cost, including entrance and guided tours of both Museums, and travel is £32.00.
Please email Chris Stevens to book your place; we can take 30 people.
